Eleven Additional Plating Processes

We are proud to announce eleven additional plating processes returning to our Columbus, Ohio facility. Our maintenance crew has been hard at work restoring our 1950’s era Model C barrel zinc plating line to a fully operational condition. It’s been months of work and has had many set backs, all completely understandable when restoring 65 year old industrial equipment. Many wondered why we didn’t just buy new equipment given all the difficulty.

Truth is, one can’t buy this type of equipment any more. It just doesn’t exist. While other shops would have placed a rack/gantry line and said the heck with it, we find this dedicated barrel system to be less damaging to parts. That makes it worth the investment in time and resources to provide our customers with the highest quality barrel zinc in central Ohio. Our standard compliment of chromium topcoats will be on hand including ELV/RoHS/WEEE compliant clear and yellow trivalent chromium passivates. We expect this line to be fully operational around June 19th, 2015.

The focus will then turn to the completion of an aluminum hard coat anodize line. This line will be one of, if not the largest, anodize lines in the state of Ohio. With this additional line we can once again offer hard coat, hard coat with PTFE, hard coat with chemical conversion, and hard coat with black dye all compatible with MIL-A-8625 TYPE III CLASS 1 or CLASS 2, and AMS 2468/AMS 2469 specifications. We hope to offer these valuable services again around the 4th of July holiday.

The other processes in the short term pipeline for release are zinc phosphate, electro-polish and passivation of 300 series stainless steel. All three of these processes can be performed on a single line and compliment many of our other services. This line restoration should be complete by mid to end of July 2015.

We’d like to thank our customers for all the support and encouragement we have received during this recovery. By offering these processes we can once again provide top quality and comprehensive plating services. We want to be your one-stop-shop for blasting, plating and powder coating!
